Big Hearts Outdoors is proud to donate two riding grants for special needs children to experience therapy horseback riding at the Central Illinois Riding Therapy Arena. CIRT is recognized by the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Intl) as a “premier center” – the highest possible level of accreditation.  The benefit of the therapy includes increased balance, strength and flexibility.  The self-confidence and communication skills learned as the rider experiences this unique therapy is fun and exciting.  The families volunteer to support the horse shows and competitions that are promoted with the organization as they encourage their special needs family member to excel and compete in new challenges.  Pictures will be added soon of the riders we are supporting.  We wish the horseback riders and their families a great experience and look forward to sharing their stories with you.

BIG HEART OUTDOORS is a proud supporter of the Heart of Illinois Chapter of Whitetails Unlimited.  This is the group that started all the hunting adventures for our son Drake Taylor.  In 2010 Drake was offered a deer hunt by the organization which unleashed a passion in Drake that changed his life. That hunting experience was the inspiration behind the wildlife jewelry for the company Little D Designs.  The Heart of Illinois Whitetail gentlemen taught Drake to shoot, retrofitted equipment and hosted a weekend in Camden Illinois that touch and changed the lives of all thought in attendance.  We will be forever grateful to the families and friends that embraced us for an unforgettable weekend!

Join them this year at their May 17, 2014 Banquet held in Pekin, IL.

Big Hearts Outdoors was excited to support Cauy at the Physically Challenged Bowhunters of America Deer & Turkey Hunt in Cambridge, OH in October 2013.  Cauy had the opportunity to share a weekend with other physically challenged youth and adult hunters at Deerassic Park.  Local residents mentor and share their hunting ground with the participants that come together and share the thrill and excitement of a fall deer and turkey hunt.  Cauy had the opportunity to zero in his crossbow on some large 3-D archery targets.  He took great aim at a large buffalo target and gives a big thumbs up on a well place shot!  Cauy was interviewed by a local TV station while at the hunt which made him a local celebrity for the weekend.  Although Cauy did not harvest a deer that weekend he met many new friends and had a great time.

The PCBA is an organization that connects physically challenged bowhunters to various hunts across the country.  Big Hearts Outdoors underwrites the travel expenses for a youth hunter to attend the event.  The young hunter has the opportunity to share time with other sportsmen and women that share a passion for the outdoors.  New skills, ideas and lots of laughs are shared as everyone supports and encourages each other.

It is truly a weekend of "Do Your Best, Have Fun, Hang Around Good People!"
